House schedules vote on ObamaCare replacement bill

House Republicans scheduled a prefer Thursday on the healthcare replacement bill, as President Trump said he’s convinced over a dozen people in the Republican Study Committee to aid the program.

“I wish to allow the world know: I am 100 % in favor,” he explained inside a meeting with 13 people in the conservative RSC.

“Each and every part of this room is now a yes,” Trump added.

But the ObamaCare replacement plan still faces opposition from both moderate Republicans and the party’s more conservative factions.

The leader of the House Freedom Caucus – whose members want to reduce Medicaid funding and a new tax credit — said it won't pass Congress until changes are made.

“They won’t have the votes unless they change it” further, said Rep. Mark Meadows( R-N.C.).

Trump said in the Friday meeting the White House has agreed to change certain aspects of the bill.

Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price told House Republicans that one of the changes being considered is allowing states to impose work requirements for Medicaid recipients, a change that may make an impression on some conservatives, The Hill reported. They’ve also discussed changing the new tax credits.

“We need to make sure the tax credits really are a closer approximation towards the price of healthcare insurance within the different age bands, so there might be some adjustments there,” former Republican Study Committee Chairman Bill Flores (R-Texas) told The Hill.
