2021 Freedom Week

A third tax-free week is on Florida's calendar. The Florida Senate announced passage of HB 7061, a bill to provide tax relief to Florida families and businesses.

“The goal of the balance is to help people go back to normal activities after a tough 2021,” says Ellsworth Buck, V . p . of Insurance, Florida's top independent boat insurance agency.

Included for the reason that bill may be the “2021 Freedom Week” sales tax holiday, which may occur July 1-7. The tax holiday will make the following items tax-free if bought for events happening from July 1 to Dec. 31, 2021:

  • Concert tickets
  • Sports tickets
  • Cultural event tickets
  • “Specified performances” tickets
  • Movie tickets
  • Museum admission
  • State park annual passes
  • Gym fees
  • Season tickets

The Freedom Week Sales Tax Holiday will also apply to sales of boating and water activity supplies, camping supplies, fishing supplies, general outdoor supplies, and sports gear. Florida's Ways & Means Committee intends for the “recreation” tax holiday to become, “used to enjoy the entertainment options and natural beauty Florida has to offer.”
