– Long-term care facility residents and staff.
– Persons 65 years old and older.
– Health care personnel with direct patient contact.
– Persons deemed to become extremely susceptible to COVID-19 by hospital providers.
Those who fall into the next groups can contact their local health department to join up. Select Publix supermarkets will also be providing the vaccination by appointment only.
The vaccine is available in two doses and should be scheduled apart. The 2nd shot is offered 21 or 4 weeks following the first, based on which COVID vaccine the recipient receives.

State lawmakers are now calling for answers in the way the vaccine is being distributed.
